So what is ABA?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a scientific discipline concerned with analyzing the principles of learning and behavioral control, developing usable methods from these principles, and systematically applying these methods to change behavior of social significance. In practice, ABA assesses the functional relationship between a targeted behavior and the environment, then applies established strategies to increase positive behaviors.

Behavioral methods are used to enhance learning and replace challenging behaviors with more appropriate ones. The objective of these methods are to minimize a child's deficits while maximizing their ability to successfully learn. Autism Behavior Consultants considers every child uniquely individual with different needs and abilities. We design a tailored program addressing specific strengths and weaknesses in the areas of language, communication, play and socialization, daily living, and behavior regulation.

Our philosophy emphasizes positive reinforcement while taking a proactive approach to addressing behaviors. We strive to improve the quality of life for every child and family. Our primary goal is to build a skill set in each child and family that will open up possibilities for their individual and unique future.
